In the early 1960s, American jazz trumpeter, big band leader, composer, arranger and educator Gerald Wilson recorded several albums for the Pacific Jazz label, a few of which are considered the most significant of his career. Among them is "Moment Of Truth," recorded in August and September 1962 by the Gerald Wilson Big Band at Pacific Jazz Studios in Los Angeles and released the same year.It "features Wilson's dynamic big band on an action-packed set of nine tracks (seven of which were composed by Wilson). Highlights include the swinging blues of the title track, the irrepressible Latin groove of 'Viva Tirado' and a light-hearted version of 'Milestones' by Miles Davis," according to a Blue Note description. This "Tone Poet Vinyl" LP was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray (Cohearent Audio) from the original analog master tapes and pressed on 180 g vinyl by Record Technology Inc. (RTI) pressed. It comes in a deluxe tip-on sleeve.
