A black vinyl reissue of the iconic 1982 soundtrack to Tron by legendary electronic pioneer and composer Wendy Carlos (The Shining, Clockwork Orange). The music, which was the first collaboration between Carlos and her partner Annemarie Franklin, featured a mix of a Moog analog synthesizer and a GDS digital synthesizer, as well as non-electronic pieces performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Two additional music tracks ("1990's Theme" and "Only Solutions") were contributed by the American band Journey. This is the first re-release of the black 18-track 1 LP vinyl, celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Tron franchise in 2022. The original film tells the story of computer engineer Kevin Flynn, who discovers that an executive at his company has stolen his work. Flynn tries to hack into the system, but is instead transported to the digital world of The Grid, where he must battle Sark and the imposing Master Control Program. With the help of Tron (a security program) and Yori, Flynn becomes a freedom fighter for the Grid's suppressed programs. The soundtrack perfectly captures the geometrically intense landscapes of cyberspace and the virtual gladiator computer game.
