Animals As Leaders already shortened the wait for the record with singles “Monomyth” and “The Problem Of Other Minds”. The latter is a fast-paced looping track that goes through constant beat changes while drummer Matt Garstka keeps the song in check with innovative drumming. This is joined by synthesizers and melodic electric guitar licks from Abasi and guitarist/bassist Javier Reyes – all in just two and a half minutes of playing time.
Animals As Leaders were formed in Washington, D.C. in 2007. To date, they have released four albums, the debut “Animals As Leaders” (2009), “Weightless” (2011), “The Joy Of Motion” (2014), and “The Madness Of Many” (2016), which have earned them an excellent reputation in the djent scene, a subgenre of progressive metal that owes its name to the characteristic sound of a distorted, palm-muted guitar with high gain and low pitch. “Djent” is an onomatopoeia for this sound. “Parrhesia” is album number five and is already available for pre-order.
